Production Log Week 8: Closing sequence and interview

Closing sequence and Radio one interview

I spent this week filming the closing sequence of my documentary. This involved the presenter filming at his house. I reason why I decided to use a living room was because it is a place that is quite informal and is a place where 16-18 year olds live with their parents. At the end of my documentary the presenter concludes what he has found out for his audience and then sit on a sofa and relaxes. I used a dolly to track backwards as the presenter walks towards the camera, this is to make the documentary more active rather than static. I also did this as the presenter is meant to turn on his DVD player by the TV and relax.

I also managed to set up an interview with a radio 1 DJ. To prove he was genuine, I filmed lots of creditials and awards that he has won and various other things in the studio including a banner, computer and DJ decks. I planned to have a voiceover followed by quick cutaways of the awards and props to introduce my interviewee. The radio one DJ produced a lot of useful information that would educate my audience about statistics and facts about the music industry. The shots were very well framed and looked professional which was ideal when I came to edit it.
