Production Log Week 10: Presentation

Presentation

Throughout this week I have been editing my documentary. However this was only a rough edited version of my documentary so that I could show my class and teacher what I had put together so far. The class was responsible for writing down what their opinion was on my documentary and after it was finished give feedback. I received some feedback that consisted of negative and positive points. The negative side was based on the fact that I did not have much in make my documentary interactive to my audience. The audience felt that this would have made my documentary much more engaging. Another point was that there was not a lot of exposition in my documentary making this very unsecure.

However on the plus side my audience thought my documentary had a humorous mode of address at the start which would have made them feel welcome to the documentary. They also thought it was well structured in terms of conventions such as the interviews. My interviewees gave me a lot of useful information that my audience enjoyed listening to and the fact that I managed to get hold of real people with real opinions made my documentary about illegal music downloading more genuine.

Overall this has taught me that I need to mention more facts and figures as well as something more fun to make my documentary more engaging to the audience. The fact that the topic I chose was about illegal music downloading meant that everyone from any gender, ethnicity or even religion can be involved by expressing their views on the topic.
